About

For 100 years, the Goldendale Community Library has been a pillar of the Goldendale community. Nestled in the easternmost location of FVRLibraries, this library has served as a vital resource for residents, providing learning opportunities, entertainment, and creativity for all ages. As we celebrate our centennial anniversary, it's a perfect time to reflect on our mission and how we have impacted the community over the past century.

Our mission at the Goldendale Community Library is to strengthen our communities through knowledge, experiences, and creativity. This mission statement embodies everything that our library stands for. We believe that knowledge is power and access to information should be available to everyone. We strive to provide a diverse collection of books, resources, and programs that cater to the needs and interests of our community.

One of the most significant ways we fulfill our mission is through learning resources. From early literacy programs for young children to technology classes for adults, we offer a variety of educational opportunities for all ages. Our library's commitment to lifelong learning is evident through our partnership with local schools and organizations, where we provide support for students and teachers alike. We also offer free access to online databases and digital resources, making it easier for individuals to expand their knowledge base.

Not only do we provide learning resources, but we also offer entertainment options for the community. Our library is more than just a place to borrow books; it's a hub for cultural enrichment. We host events such as author readings, book clubs, movie nights, and art exhibits that engage and inspire our community members. These events promote social interaction and foster a sense of community among Goldendale residents.

We believe that creativity is essential for personal growth and development, and we strive to provide opportunities for individuals to express themselves freely. Our library offers various arts and crafts programs, writing workshops, and even a makerspace for individuals to explore their creativity and learn new skills. These programs not only promote self-expression but also foster a sense of pride in one's work and build confidence.

Our library's impact on the community goes beyond our mission statement. We have witnessed firsthand how access to knowledge, experiences, and creativity has transformed lives. We have seen children's faces light up as they discover a new book; we have watched seniors connect with their peers through our programs, and we have seen individuals gain confidence and pursue their passions through our resources.

We are grateful for the support of the Goldendale community. Without the dedication and involvement of our community members, our library would not be what it is today. We are proud to be a part of this community for 100 years and look forward to many more years of serving as a vital resource for knowledge, experiences, and creativity.

We will continue to adapt and evolve to meet the changing needs of our community members. Whether it's through expanding our digital resources or introducing new programs, we will always strive to provide the best services for our community.

Our mission to strengthen our communities through knowledge, experiences, and creativity has guided us and will continue to do so in the years to come. We are proud of our past accomplishments and excited for the future as we continue to serve as a valuable resource for our community.
